Omega-Phone 924 Technical Manual
System ABBR No (System Speed Dial)
MBC - 4-12
The system has 80 (20 - 99) Abbreviated Dialing Numbers (system speed dial bins)
that are available to all system users. Some extensions will not be able to use some
speed dial bins based on their Class Of Service as defined in the system Toll
Restriction programming. The extension Class Of Service governs the use of System
Speed Dial as follows:
COS 0 - 5 Can access all 80.
COS 6 Can only access 20 - 39.
COS 7 Cannot use ABBR dialing.
Data Range: Any combination of digits and system commands up to 16 characters
maximum per bin.
Factory Setting: All bins are Empty.
Press show.
Input the bin number to change (20 - 99), then press show [The current content is
displayed.] Press chg.
Input the new number to be stored in this bin, then press save [The contents are
then displayed.]
Press back to return step 3 above or press next to advance to the next Resource
programming parameter.
Note:
Input all numbers that are to be dialed when this Abbreviated Number (Speed
Dial) bin is accessed. * and # are valid numeral entries.
Sixteen characters maximum can be programmed into any one Abbreviated bin. When
numbers to be dialed exceed 16 digits, one bin can be linked to another. For example
we will use bins 20 and 21 linked together to dial the complete telephone number:
"123456 {hook-flash} {pause} 7890123456789012".
The entry in bin 20 is: 123456/P@21.
The entry in bin 21 is: 7890123456789012.
Three special handling codes:
Flash command = Feature 3; displayed as / (a FLASH may be required to
operate specific line features as are sometimes required by the host PBX.)
Pause Insertion = Feature 70; displayed as P (when a pause is needed
between the digits prior to the pause insertion and the digits after the pause
insertion.)
Linking = Feature 1; displayed as @ plus the bin to link. The linked bin must
be entered after the @. (In the example bin 21 is the linked bin.) To dial this
number, the user accesses bin #20 only. The special handling codes ("/", "P",
and "@") occupy a character position.
