Installation Planning

1. The Omega-Phone 924 OM-KSU should be located within 5 feet of the isolated
dedicated 120 - 240V ± 10% at 50 - 60Hz, and connected to an uninterruptible
power supply (UPS). Do not use an extension cord!
2. Locate the Telephone Company demarcation point and extend them to the MDF.
3. The system (MDF) should be mounted on a painted (white or black) 3/4 inch ply-
wood back board. Be sure that the back board is level and at least 24 inches off the
floor. Also, be sure that it is large enough for the system and all of the peripheral
equipment.

Grounding Requirements

The Omega-Phone 924 is a sound and reliable communications system that is not
inherently subject to ground related problems. The Omega-Phone 924 is, however, a
sophisticated electronic CPU-controlled product that is susceptible to environmental
factors that will and can affect system performance and component integrity.
The Omega-Phone 924 system must be connected to an effective earth ground
potential for proper system operation. The system must be properly grounded to
dissipate external environmental and electrical interference such as static discharge,
radio frequency interference, electromagnetic interference, electrical surges, lightning
surges, and transient high voltage.
This is particularly important in any installation that has off premise cabling,
networked systems, station repeaters, feeder cables, underground cables and multi-
vendor, multi-product installations. All products and equipment connected or
integrated to the Omega-Phone 924 system must be grounded to the same ground
potential.
