Memory sparing function

To use the memory sparing function, change the setting in BIOS Setup Utility. A spare memory pair is
reserved by this function without using a bank of the installed memory module. Available memory
capacity (logical capacity) will be reduced by 3/4 of the physical memory capacity. If an uncorrectable
memory error occurs, the reserved memory modules take place and reduce risk of uncorrectable memory
error occurrences.
Installation conditions
Memory modules with the same capacity must be installed in all memory slots of a memory board.
Memory modules installed in the memory bank 4 (the memory bank 8 for the memory board 2) are
reserved as spare memory.
BIOS settings
After installing the memory modules, perform the following settings to enable the memory mirroring
function.
1
