Go to "Step 1520-2".
2. The power LED on the operator panel is flashing, the operator panel display is
blank and the power supply fans are turning.
Go to "Step 1520-3".
3. OK, STBY or DIAG STBY is displayed on the operator panel display and the power
LED on the operator panel is flashing. There is no indication of activity when the
power button is pressed. The power LED does not come on solid and none of the
fans, including the fans in the power supplies, start to turn.
Go to "Step 1520-3".
4. OK, STBY or DIAG STBY is displayed on the operator panel display and the power
LED on the operator panel is flashing. When the power button is pressed, the
system begins to power on, but the power LED on the operator panel does not stay
on.
Go to "Step 1520-3".

Step 1520-2

1. Press the power button to turn off the power.
2. Unplug the system unit power cable from the system unit and the wall outlet.
3. Check that the external power cable to the system unit has continuity.
4. Check that the power outlet has been wired correctly with the correct voltage.
5. Connect the system unit power cable to the system unit and the wall outlet.

Step 1520-3

1. Press the power button to turn off the power.
2. Unplug the system unit power cable from the wall outlet.
3. If you have not already done so, remove the right side cover and locate the power
supplies.
4. Grasp the handle of the bottom power supply, pivot it downward and pull the power
supply out of the system unit
5. Connect the system unit power cable to the wall outlet.
6. Press the power button to turn on the power.
Do the fans in the front of the machine come on and the power LED on the
operator panel come on and stay on?

Service Guide
Go to "Step 1520-3".
Correct the problem. Go to "MAP 410: Repair Checkout" in RS/6000 and
Eserver pSeries Diagnostic Information for Multiple Bus Systems .
Reinstall the power supply that you removed.
Repeat this step for the center and top power supplies if they are installed.
