EPS-150DC External Power Module (with EPS-T2)
This section describes the installation process for the Extreme Networks EPS-150DC (External Power
Module 10909) and specific safety requirements that must be adhered to when connecting an EPS-
150DC to a DC power source and to an Extreme Networks switch.
The EPS-150DC is a modular power supply for use in the External Power System Tray (EPS-T2). It
allows you to add a redundant power supply to compatible Extreme switches to protect against a
power supply failure. The EPS-T2 is a tray that holds one or two EPS-150DC power supplies. Each EPS-
150DC provides one-to-one redundancy to an attached Extreme switch. The EPS-150DC installs into an
EPS-T2 rack-mountable chassis.
NOTE
The EPS-150DC is available for use with the Summit X450a-24tDC, Summit X450a-24xDC, or Summit X450a-
48tDC switch. When the one of these Summit switches is used with the EPS-150DC, the power supplies (internal
and redundant) are fully fault tolerant and load-sharing. If one power supply fails, the other power supply will
provide sufficient power to operate the switch.
The EPS-150DC unit is shipped with the following items in the box:
One EPS-150DC unit
●
Mounting hardware, including screws
●
One DC wiring harness
●
One EPS-150DC redundant power cord (for connecting to Summit switches)
●
NOTE
For centralized DC power connection, this product is intended to be installed in restricted access locations
(dedicated equipment rooms, equipment closets, or the like) in accordance with Articles 110-16, 110-17, and 110-
18 of the National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.
