This is a non-volatile memory that allows
the settings of the printer to be maintained
even when power is switched off.
When the printer is ready to receive data, it
is online, if not, it is offline. The machine has
to be online before copying or printing from
applications can be done. However the
machine must be offline in order to use the
printer control panel to select or change
settings. You can toggle between online
and offline by pressing the Online button on
the printer control panel.
