Step 5.
If you are instructed to return the operator information panel assembly, follow all packaging
instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

Installing the operator information panel assembly

To install the replacement operator information panel assembly, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Slide the operator information panel assembly into the server until it clicks into place.
Step 2.
Inside the server, connect the cable to the rear of the operator information panel assembly.
Step 3.
Install the cover (see "Installing the server cover" on page 139).
Step 4.
Slide the server into the rack.
Step 5.
Reconnect the external cables; then, reconnect the power cords and turn on the peripheral devices
and the server.

Removing a SAS hard disk drive backplane

To remove a SAS hard disk drive backplane, complete the following steps.
Step 1.
Read the safety information that begins on page Safety information.
Step 2.
Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cord and all external cables.
Step 3.
Slide the server out of the rack.
Step 4.
Remove the cover (see Removing the cover).
Step 5.
Pull the hard disk drives out of the server slightly to disengage them from the backplane. See
Removing a hot-swap hard disk drive for details.
