Installing A Cd-Rw/Dvd Drive - Lenovo ThinkServer RD220 Hardware Maintenance Manual

Step 1. Read the safety information that begins on page Chapter 2 "Safety information" on page 3.
Step 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords and external cables.
Step 3. Slide the server out of the rack; then, remove the cover (see Removing the cover).
Step 4. Press the release tab down
toward the front of the server.
Step 5. From the front of the server, pull the drive out of the bay
Step 6. Remove the drive retention clip
Step 7. If you are instructed to return the CD-RW/DVD drive, follow all packaging instructions, and use
any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.

Installing a CD-RW/DVD drive

To install the replacement CD-RW/DVD drive, complete the following steps.
1. Attach the drive-retention clip
2. Slide the drive into the CD/DVD drive bay (using the alignment pins
