Mapping IP address to Domain Host Names Using the CLI Commands
The following table summarizes the equivalent CLI commands for mapping Domain Host names
to IP addresses.
Table 6-31. Domain Host Name CLI Commands
CLI Command
ip host name address1
[address2 ... address8]
no ip host name
clear host {name | *}
show hosts [name]
The following is an example of the CLI commands:
console# enable
console# configure
console (config)# ip host accounting.abc.com 176.10.23.1

Configuring ARP

The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is a TCP/IP protocol that converts IP addresses into
physical addresses. The static entries can be defined in the ARP Table. When static entries are
defined, a permanent entry is entered and used to translate IP addresses to MAC addresses. To
open the ARP Settings page, click System IP Addressing ARP in the tree view.

Removes the name-to-address mapping.
Deletes entries from the host name-to-address
cache.
Displays the default domain name, list of name
server hosts, the static and the cached list of host
names and addresses.
