Do not service any Dell product except as explained in your Dell system documentation. Opening or removing covers that are marked with the triangular symbol with a lightning bolt may expose you to electrical shock.
  • Page 5 Use the correct external power source. Operate the product only from the type of power source indicated on the electrical ratings label. If you are not sure of the type of power source required, consult your Dell service provider or local power company.
  • Page 6 Do not use appliance/voltage converters or kits sold for appliances with your Dell product. To help protect your system/components from sudden, transient increases and decreases in electrical power, use a surge suppressor, line conditioner, or un- interruptible power supply (UPS).

There may be a risk of electrical shock from lightning. Never connect or use a modem or telephone in a wet environment. Do not plug a modem or telephone cable into the network interface controller (NIC) receptacle.
  • Page 9 Disconnect your computer and devices from their power sources. Also, discon- nect any telephone or telecommunication lines from the computer. Doing so reduces the potential for personal injury or shock. In addition, take note of these safety guidelines when appropriate: When you disconnect a cable, pull on its connector or on its strain-relief loop, not on the cable itself.

You must allow 2 U (3.5 inches) of vertical space for each PowerVault 56F switch you install in the rack. NOTE: The vertical rails of the rack are marked by small indentations in 1-U incre- ments (see Figure 6).
