NOTE
The processor upgrade kit includes the HP NetServer
Navigator CD-ROM. After installing processors, boot with this
CD-ROM to update the BIOS.

Configuration Guidelines

Use the following guidelines when installing additional processor modules in the
LT 6000r:
Use only processor module upgrade kits with the same HP product
number. This ensures that the processor type, clock speed, and cache size
will match, and that the processor module clock speeds are compatible.
Ensure that the VRM and the processor module associated with it are in
their correct slots. For example, the processor module 2 must have a
corresponding VRM in VRM Slot 2.
l
Wear an antistatic wrist strap before handling processors and VRMs. This
will prevent the possibility of damage to the component due to electrostatic
discharge.
CAUTION
Do not remove the processor module from its anti-static bag
until you are ready to install it. Ensure that the bags remains
sealed.
Before removing a processor module from its anti-static bag,
wear an antistatic wrist strap, and touch a grounded, unpainted
metal surface on the NetServer to discharge electrostatic
energy.

Tools Required

An antistatic service kit (3M 8501/8502/8503 or equivalent) is required. This kit
includes a static-dissipating work surface, a chassis clip lead, and a wrist strap.
