• The toner cartridge seal may still be in place.
Make sure the seal is removed.
• There could have been a multiple sheet feed.
Be sure to fan the paper before loading the
cassette.(See page 6-9.)
• Make sure the toner cartridge is not out of
toner.
•Check for toner cartridge
damage. Replace the toner
cartridge if necessary.
•The printer power
supply may have failed.

Support.
Smeared Image
The printed image rubs off or smears
• Check to see if there is moisture in the paper.
If so, load fresh dry paper into the printer.
• Make sure paper meets proper specifications
for this printer.
Print Quality Problems

Damaged Print

The print is damaged, torn, or creased.
• Make sure only new undamaged paper is
loaded into the cassette.
• The paper path may be contaminated. Open
the top cover, remove the toner cartridge and
check for loose pieces of paper jammed in the
paper path. Remove the paper and print
several blank sheets to help clear out the
contamination.
Smeared Image
•Make sure the top
cover is properly
closed.
•The fuser may
have failed. Call
