Chapter 4 : Windows Status Monitor

Sound Alerts

In addition to visual status the SuperScript 1260
Status Monitor can provide audible warnings of
printer errors and status such as paper out or
print job complete. The Alerts tab of the maxi-
mized SuperScript 1260 Status Monitor window,
described below, lets you control audible alerts.

Accessing the Maximized Status Monitor

To maximize the Status Monitor, double-click the
icon (in Windows 3.1x), single-click on the Status
Monitor in the task bar (in Windows 95), or
double click on the mini-window. The SuperScript
1260 Status Monitor will be maximized and show
the tabs illustrated above. You can use its full
range of status reporting and printer control
features.

The Maximized Status Monitor

When the SuperScript 1260 Status Monitor is max-
imized, all its features are available from four tab
dialog boxes: General, Change Printer, Alerts, and
Preferences.
When you maximize the SuperScript 1260 Status
Monitor the General tab is visible. To access the
features of any tab dialog box, just click its tab.
Each tab is described in a separate section below.

General Tab

The General tab provides several frequently-used
features, including:
• Displays detailed information about your
printer status
• Lets you quickly access the default printer
driver's Setup dialog box, and the Windows
Print Manager in Windows 3.1x, if it is
currently enabled
• Provides access to printer details (if you've
selected the SuperScript 1260 as your default
printer)
• Allows you to pause or resume printing if you
are directly connected to your printer and
have bidirectional communication enabled
