Chapter 4 : Windows Status Monitor
Minimized Views
By default, the SuperScript 1260 Status Monitor
appears on your desktop as a mini-window.
Using the Preferences Tab you can
change the SuperScript 1260 Status
Monitor to appear as either an icon
in Windows 3.1x or as an indicator
Windows 3.1x
on the Windows 95 taskbar. All
three report your printer's status,
and allow you to instantly access the maximized
SuperScript 1260 Status Monitor window with its
extensive collection of status reporting and
printer control features.

NEC SuperScript 1260 User's Guide
The mini-window supports drag-and-drop
printing from Windows 95 Explorer or from File
Manager in Windows 3.1x and similar programs.
To use drag-and-drop printing, you'll need to
associate the Windows programs that will be used
to print your jobs with the file extensions of the
files you want to print, as described in the File
Manager, Explorer or other program's documen-
tation.
Features of the Mini-Window View
The mini-window reports the current printer and
port on the bar at the bottom, as illustrated below.
Clicking the bar once brings up a list of all of the
available Windows printers (including the Super-
Script 1260).
To select one of the printers on the list as the
default Windows printer, click it once. The newly-
selected default printer's name and port will
appear on the bar at the bottom of the mini-
window.
