Processor Installation

1.
Remove the processor currently in the system (see the previous procedure
"Processor Removal").
2.
Align the notched corner of the processor with the alignment corner in the socket
and insert the processor.

3.
Swing the lever down to lock the processor into the socket.
4.
Check to see if the newly installed processor requires the switches on the system
board to be changed (see Appendix B, "System Board Switches").
5.
Replace the system unit side panel (see "Replacing the Side Panel" earlier in this
section).
CAUTION: Before picking up the processor,
reduce static discharge by touching the metal
frame of the system unit.

any new heatsink required for the upgrade
