Expansion Boards

The computer supports ISA Plug and Play expansion boards (see "Plug and Play Support"
in Section 1. Plug and Play expansion boards allow you to simply install the board in an
expansion slot without changing the hardware settings. There are no system resource
conflicts to resolve. Plug and Play automatically configures the board for the system.
Industry-standard 8- or 16-bit, ISA and 32-bit, PCI expansion boards are supported in the
system unit. ISA expansion boards can either be Plug and Play or non-Plug and Play boards.

Slot Locations

The system has six expansion board slots:
n
three PCI slots
n
two ISA slots
n
one shared PCI/ISA slot.
PCI expansion boards run at the system's processor speed. The PCI bus handles 32 bits of
data at a time, being wider as well as faster than the standard ISA bus. PCI boards can send
and receive data much faster which boosts system performance.
