CMOS Battery Removal

Remove the 3-volt lithium battery from the system board as follows.
1. Turn off the system and disconnect the system power cord.
Removing the battery from the system board causes the
workstation to lose system configuration information. If
possible, run the CMOS Setup Utility and record the system
configuration settings before removing the battery. Use that
information to restore the system after replacing the battery.
2. Ensure that all external cables are disconnected from the front and rear of
the system.
3. Label and disconnect any cables connected to the system board.
4. Remove the system board.

5. Locate the battery and its socket on the system board (see the following
figure).

6. Use your fingers to carefully remove the battery from the battery socket on
the system board (see the figure on the following page).
