7.4 Battery maintenance/inspection
Improper handling of the battery can shorten the battery life or cause a serious accident.
Please use with the correct handling method to the full effect.
1) Be aware of short circuits, sparks, and fire when handling the battery.
2) Combustible hydrogen gas is generated from the battery. Do not generate fire (matches,
lighters, cigarettes, sparks from welders or grinders, sparks on terminals, etc.)
battery as this may cause a fire or explosion.
3) Do not touch the battery with a charged body or clean it with a dry cloth. It may cause a
fire explosion due to static electricity.
4) Battery fluid is dilute sulfuric acid. Be aware when you touch the eyes and skin as it may
be injured. If an accident occurs, act according to 7.4.5 Electrolyte Solution Procedures
for Accidents.
5) Be sure to remove the battery from the unit when charging. It may damage the electrical
components or damage the wiring. Fast charging is not a suitable method for
supplementary charging. Fast charge is only for emergencies, and for other cases, strictly
follow normal charge.
7.4.1 How to replenish the battery fluid
Check the height of the electrolyte in the daily before using. Check the height of the electrolyte
once a month even when not in use.
LOWER, add purified water (distilled water) to the UPPER level.
