Environmental factors may influence the function or accuracy of the pulse oximeter,
such as ambient light, physical movement, diagnostic testing, low perfusion, electromag-
netic interference, dysfunctional haemoglobin, presence of certain dyes and inappropri-
ate positioning of the pulse oximeter probe.
•
A functional test cannot be used to assess the Accuracy of a Pulse Oximeter Probe or a
Pulse Oximeter.

Pulse Rate displays the patient's pulse rate as measured with the SpO
