2.1 DESCRIPTION
The Power & Energy Logger Model PEL 52 is an easy-to-use, single-phase, and
two-phase Power and Energy Logger. The instrument has a large, backlit LCD
display for crisp viewing and an SD card to store measurements. Designed to
operate in 600 V CAT III or lower environments, the PEL records voltage, current,
power, and energy on alternating current distribution networks (50 Hz or 60 Hz).
The instrument is compact enough to fit into many different distribution panels,
has a water and shock resistant housing, operates on phase 1 input, and has
a backup battery that charges from the V1 input during measurements. The
following measurements and calculations can be made:
Phase-to-neutral and phase-to-phase voltage measurements up to 600 V
■
Current measurements up to 25,000 A, current sensor dependent
■
Automatic recognition of the different types of current sensors
■
Frequency measurements
■
Measurements of active power P (W), fundamental reactive power Q (var), and
■
apparent power S (VA) power
Measurements of fundamental active power Pf (W), non-active power N (var),
■
and distorting power D (var) using the PEL Control Panel
Measurements of active energy at source and load (W·h), reactive energy on
■
4 quadrants (varh), and apparent energy (VAh)
Total energy meter
■
Calculation of cos φ and power factor (PF)
■
Phase angle measurement
■
Calculation of aggregations of values from 1 minute to 1 hour
■
In addition to the types of measurements, the PEL 52 offers the following
features:
Storage of values on SD or SDHC card
■
Communication via Wi-Fi
■
PEL Control Panel for data recovery, configuration, communication in real
■
time with a PC, and Dataview
Web Server Interface which includes VNC mode function. When IP address is
■
known, instrument status can be displayed from any web browser
Connection to DataViewSync™ to communicate between private networks
