Prerequisites Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-10 Torx screwdriver available.
CAUTION: CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are populated with
either a component or a blank.
Procedure Procedure
1. Back up all server data.
2. If installed, remove the bezel.
3. Power down the server.
4. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
5. Do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack. .
Remove the server from the rack .
6. Remove the access panel .
7. Remove the primary PCI riser blank:
