The PMCtendo DD5 is a digital servo amplifier which drives servo mo-
tors with speed, torque and/or position control. It is suitable for closed
loop operation of brushless, synchronous servo motors and asynchro-
nous motors.
The servo amplifier consists of
A power element, which converts the fixed voltage and frequency of
the mains into a variable voltage and frequency for driving the motor
A control element with
– Sequence control and control loops for rotational speed/velocity
and position
– Interfaces for communication with the periphery or the commis-
sioning software PDrive
– Digital inputs and outputs
– Analogue inputs
– Safety circuits
– Bus interfaces (CANopen, PROFIBUS, SERCOS, DeviceNet)
– RS232 interface for parameter setting and commissioning
The following illustration shows the components that make up the servo
amplifier.
