Removing and replacing the system board

Prerequisites
If HPE Persistent Memory modules are installed in the graphics expansion module and are encrypted with local key
management, do one of the following:
Manually retrieve the HPE Persistent Memory module passwords from the graphics expansion module (user-generated
passwords only)
Export a password file to a USB key.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends exporting the password file to a USB key.

To complete this procedure, you need access to the following:
Access to HPE OneView
Active internet connection
T-30 Torx screwdriver
Procedure
1.
Power down the compute module.
2.
Unassign the server profile if it was assigned previously.
3.
Remove the graphics expansion module from the frame.
4.
Place the graphics expansion module on a flat, level work surface.
5.
Remove the access panel.
6.
Remove all drives.
7.
Remove all drive blanks.
8.
Remove the front panel/drive cage assembly.
9.
Remove the internal USB drive, if installed. To locate the internal USB connector, see "System board components."
10. Remove the microSD card, if installed. To locate the microSD card, see "System board components."
11. Remove all DIMM baffles.
12. Remove all DIMMs.
