When the NVDIMM-N DRAM contains the only copy of restored data, perform the following procedure to recover the
information:
Procedure
1.
Copy the data from the NVDIMM to some other storage device (such as SSD, HDD, or another NVDIMM) as soon as
possible (before cold reset or power loss).
2.
Power down the graphics expansion module.
3.
Remove the compute module.
4.
Place the graphics expansion module on a flat, level work surface.
5.
Remove the access panel.
6.
If applicable, remove the graphics expansion from the compute module.
7.
Remove all DIMM baffles.
IMPORTANT: Flip the DIMM baffle on top of the heatsink. Leave the Smart Storage Battery installed and on the
baffle when accessing the right DIMM baffle.
See "DIMM slot locations" to identify DIMMs installed in the graphics expansion module.
8.
Observe the NVDIMM LEDs. Do not remove an NVDIMM when any NVDIMM LED in the system is illuminated.
9.
Remove the NVDIMM-N.
10. Install a replacement NVDIMM-N.
11. Install any components removed to access the DIMM slots and the HPE Smart Storage Battery.
12. If applicable, attach the graphics expansion to the compute module.
13. Install the access panel.
14. Install the graphics expansion module in the rack.
15. Power up the graphics expansion module.
16. Sanitize the replacement NVDIMM.
17. Copy the data from the storage device to the NVDIMM-N.
