4. 3. 1 Introduction
The documentation of operative procedures is indispensable for patient safety and quality assurance.

The application area is divided into modules throughout the workflow:
Patient: Input of outline data for procedure.
Capture: Capturing of still images and video sequences as well as flagging of images.
Checklist: Safety checklist for procedure preparation.
Edit: Checking, selecting, and editing images and videos.
Finish: Data storage, and additional export of video and image data to a selection of data carriers.
4. 3. 2 Patient
In the Patient module, you compile the outline data concerning a surgical procedure. The
documentation covers the patient data, the composition of the surgical team, the type of procedure,
and the instruments used.
NOTE: The scope of documentation can be restricted of extended by admin and must be configured in

collaboration with the KARL STORZ technicians during the installation and commissioning.
