Using MMR and its Online Help

How MMR Help is structured

Before you learn how to access MMR Help and navigate through its information,
you should understand its structure. Figure 4-19 shows MMR Help's information
structure. Each rectangle in the figure represents a topic. Topics build on and
provide links to each other. Each level of topics provides a different type of
information.
At the top of Figure 4-19, the Meridian Mail Reporter Help topic appears. From this
topic, a high-level table of contents, you can access each of the five main topics:
Overview of MMR, MMR Setup, MMR Reports, MMR Communications, and
Troubleshooting.
Located at the first level of Figure 4-19, the main topics provide overview
information. Overview of MMR describes the program as a whole, the three
program themselves, and how the programs work together. Each of MMR Setup,
MMR Reports, and MMR Communications explains the respective program and
the tasks that you can perform in that program's main window. Troubleshooting
lists the two main troubleshooting areas. These main topics give you access to both
procedural and referential information.
At Figure 4-19's second level, the following topics appear:
• Meridian Mail Reporter - Setup window
• Meridian Mail Reporter-Reports window
• Meridian Mail Reporter - Communications window
• Resolving Critical Errors
• Reconfiguring MMR
The latter two topics represent the main areas of Troubleshooting. Both the critical
errors topic and the reconfiguring topic provide access to specific error messages.
In Figure 4-19, the List of Errors rectangle appears frequently. Each rectangle
represents a topic which lists errors particular to an error type. Clicking on a listed
error takes you to its topic, which describes the possible reason for the problem and
solution(s). All the window topics, such as Meridian Mail Reporter - Setup
window, provide referential information: they describe the parts of each program's
main window.
