4. From the Days in Database spin box, specify the number of days that
MMR is to store data in the database.
The value can be between 5 and 180 days with the default being 35 days.
When this limit is reached, MMR removes data older than the number of
days specified in this box. Select a value based on the anticipated load on
the Meridian Mail system and the amount of free hard disk space on your
MMR PC.
5. For a single site configuration, if you have an MSM system, make sure
the MSM Platform check box is checked.
6. Click the System ID column of the Meridian Mail Systems table, and then
type the name of your Meridian Mail system.
The name cannot consist of more than 50 alphanumeric characters.
Typically, you would enter the city or location of the site (for example,
Toronto HQ). For a multisite configuration, enter a maximum of 20 systems.
When you define MM sites, MMR Setup adds default alerts and reports to
the configuration, but they are unscheduled. For example, they print only
when you select the Print command.
If you add Meridian Mail sites to a multisite configuration after this initial
configuration, MMR Setup does not automatically add the sites to the
download schedule. You must customize the Download Schedule in MMR
Reports to include the new sites in the schedule.
7. If you are using a modem to connect MMR and Meridian Mail, click the
Dial column, and then type the modem dial-up phone number for the
Meridian Mail system.
The number can consist of a maximum of 40 alphanumeric characters. For
a single site configuration, if you leave the column blank, MMR assumes
that a direct RS-232 connection connects MMR and Meridian Mail. For a
multisite configuration, you must complete the Dial column for each system
since all sites in the configuration are accessed by modem.
