F.1
Extended Warranty Contract
All SeaBat T-Series Subsea systems are provided with a standard twelve-month warranty (see
Appendix G Warranty Information). This option provides the user with the possibility of purchasing
additional annual support.
F.2
Fiber-Optic Converter (for ROV Installations)
For SSP to laptop/PC cable lengths in excess of 25 meters, a fiber-optic link is required. This
bidirectional link can run over a single-mode fiber (where cable lengths in excess of 40km are
possible). The performance of a fiber-optic link is highly dependent on the quality of the link, the
number of connections, and the end-to-end optical loss.
Teledyne RESON offers a converter which resides in a
customer-provided pressure housing and converts the
electrical output from the SSP to an optical signal. At
the surface, a second converter is used to convert the
optical signal back to electrical before routing into the
laptop/PC.
The fiber-optic link must be protocol independent
and have a capacity of 1Gb/s.
