INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
B.5.7 Wet-End Cable Connections
The transmitter cable may induce an H-field onto the host power wires due to the high transmit
power level of the sonar. This interference depends on the external cable routing.
Therefore, for full EMC compliance to conducted emission standards, it may be required that
the installation includes a customer-provided filter, e. g. TE Connectivity 20EQ1.
The filter must be placed close to the power source in order to minimize the risk of inducing
noise on the inlet side of the filter.
Female connectors must be lubricated at least
every 5 matings to avoid damaged male connectors
(as shown here).
Follow the instructions provided with the wet
connector lubrication kit.
Noncompliance may affect warranty situation (see
Appendix G Warranty Information.
 The cable connections from the receiver and projector units to the SPP should be
made prior to immersing the units in water.
 A light lubrication coating on the female connector face will ensure sealing (see
section 2.2.2.2 Wet-End Connectors).
 Unused connectors should be sealed with dummy plugs.
 Verify that all cables are securely fastened and that strain relief is provided to prevent
cable damage.
Take care to avoid impact to the projector unit and receiver unit faces, as damage could
degrade system performance.
