Ruotare l'albero motore utilizzando l'apposito dispositi-
vo finché il cilindro 4 non si trova in corrispondenza del
PMS di incrocio (cilindro 1 nel PMS d'accensione), quindi
portare il cilindro 1 in corrispondenza del PMS d'incrocio
(cilindro 4 nel PMS d'accensione).
Controllare e registrare le valvole secondo
la tabella riportata sopra.
Misurare il gioco della valvola tra il bilanciere e lo stelo
della valvola (valvola di scarico) o il ponte valvole (valvo-
la di aspirazione) con uno spessimetro (freccia).
Lo spessimetro deve poter passare con
una leggera resistenza.
Gioco delle valvole:
MRT-X 3255
valvola di aspirazione mm = 0,40 (±0,05)
valvola di scarico mm = 0,60 (±0,05)
MRT 3255
valvola di aspirazione mm = 0,30 (±0,05)
valvola di scarico mm = 0,60 (±0,05)
Per eseguire la regolazione del gioco delle valvole
allentare il controdado "2"(E13.2).
Regolare il gioco valvole girando la vite di registro
"1"(E13.2).
Riserrare il controdado.
Coppia di serraggio: 25 Nm.
Controllare nuovamente il gioco valvole e, se neces-
sario, correggerlo.

Controllo delle condizioni
Rimuovere il filo metallico di sicurezza presente sulla
calotta sferica del cilindro del motore.
Disimpegnare la calotta sferica dalla testa sferica della
leva della valvola a farfalla "1" (E13.3) esercitando pres-
sione.
Controllare lo stato di usura del cilindro del freno moto-
re, della testa sferica, della calotta sferica e dell'alberino
della valvola a farfalla.
Controllare che la leva della valvola a farfalla sia alloggi-
ata saldamente sull'alberino, se necessario, riprendere il
serraggio delle viti.
Lubrificare la calotta sferica utilizzando il grasso pre-
scritto.
Applicare nuovamente la sede sferica sulla testina sferi-
ca esercitando pressione.
Introdurre l'anello di sicurezza in filo metallico.
Controllo della registrazione
Con il freno motore azionato la leva della valvola
a farfalla "1"(E13.3) in posizione di lavoro (cilindro
estratto) deve essere a contatto con il supporto
"2"(E13.3).
Anche quando il cilindro del freno motore è in posizi-
one di riposo (cilindro rientrato) la leva della valvola
a farfalla deve essere a contatto con il supporto; in
questo modo il precarico della molla di richiamo del
cilindro del freno motore risulta sufficiente.
Controllare la posizione dell'alberino della valvola a
farfalla: se il freno motore è in posizione di riposo,
l'intaglio deve trovarsi in posizione orizzontale In
posizione di lavoro, invece, l'intaglio deve trovarsi in
posizione verticale.

Use the turning tool to turn the crankshaft
until the 4th cylinder is at overlap TDC. (1st cylinder
at ignition TDC). Then turn the 1st cylinder to over-
lap TDC (4th cylinder at ignition TDC).
Check and adjust the valves in accordance
with the table above.
Measure the valve clearance between the rocker
arm and valve stem (exhaust valve) or valve bridge
(inlet valve) with a feeler gauge (arrow).
It must be possible to pull the feeler gauge through
with only light resistance.
Valve clearance:

Inlet valves mm = 0.40 (±0,05)
Exhaust valve mm = 0.60 (±0,05)

Inlet valves mm = 0.30 (±0,05)
Exhaust valve mm = 0.60 (±0,05)
Slacken counter nut "2"(E13.2) to adjust the valve
clearance.
Adjust the valve clear-ance by turning
adjustment screw "1"(E13.2).
Retighten the counter nut.
Tightening torque: 25Nm.
Check the valve clearance again and readjust if
necessary.

Remove the wire circlip from the engine
cylinder ball socket.
Prise off the ball socket from throttle valve lever 1
ball neck.
Check the engine brake cylinder, ball neck and ball
socket as well as the throttle valve shaft for wear.
Check the throttle valve lever on the throttle valve
shaft for firm seating and retighten the clamping
screws if necessary.
Lubricate the ball socket with the specified
grease.
Press the ball socket back onto the ball
neck.
Insert the wire circlip.
Checking adjustment
When the engine brake is applied, throttle valve lever
"1" (E13.3) must make contact with retainer "2"(E13.3)
when the throttle valve lever is in its active position
(cylinder extended).
The throttle valve lever must also make contact with
the retainer when the engine brake cylinder is in its
inactive position (cylinder retracted); if this is the case
the return spring pretension of the engine brake cylin-
der is adequate.
Check the position of the throttle valve shaft: when the
engine brake is inactive, the slot must be horizontal.
When the engine brake is in the active position, the
slot must be vertical.

Draai de motoras met behulp van het desbe-
treffende instrument totdat de cilinder 4 zich ter
hoogte van de PMS-kruising bevindt (cilinder 1
in de ontsteking-PMS). Breng vervolgens cilinder
1 ter hoogte van de PMS-kruising (cilinder 4 in de
ontsteking-PMS).
Controleer de kleppen en regel ze volgens de
bovenvermelde tabel.
Meet de speling van de klep tussen het balan-
ceertoestel en de staaf van de klep (afvoerklep)
of de klepbrug (aanzuigklep) met een dikteme-
ter (pijl).
De diktemeter moet erdoor kunnen met een
beperkte weerstand.
Speling van de kleppen:

aanzuigklep mm = 0,40 (±0,05)
afvoerklep mm = 0,60 (±0,05)
MRT 3255
aanzuigklep mm = 0,30 (±0,05)
afvoerklep mm = 0,60 (±0,05)
Om de speling van de kleppen te regelen, draai de
contramoer "2" los (E13.2).
Regel de speling van de kleppendoor aan de stel-
schroef "1" te draaien (E13.2).
Draai de contramoer opnieuw vast.
Aanhaalmoment: 25 Nm.
Controleer opnieuw de speling van de kleppen. Pas
ze, indien nodig, aan.

Controle van de staat
Verwijder de ijzeren veiligheidsdraad die zich op
de bolvormige kap van de cilinder van de motor
bevindt.
Verwijder de bolvormige kap van de bolvormige
kop van de hendel van de vlinderklep "1" (E13.3)
door er druk op uit te oefenen.
Controleer of de cilinder van de motorrem, de bol-
vormige kop, de bolvormige kap en de as van de
vlinderklep slijtage vertonen.
Controleer of de hendel van de vlinderklep stevig
op de as steunt. Draai, indien nodig, de schroeven
vaster.
Smeer de bolvormige kap met het aanbevolen vet.
Breng de bolvormige houder opnieuw aan op de
bolvormige kop door er druk op uit te oefenen.
Breng de veiligheidsring in ijzerdraad aan.
Controle van de afstelling
Met de motorrem geactiveerd, moet de hendel van
de vlinderklep "1"(E13.3) in de bedrijfsstand (filter
uitgeschoven) de steun "2" aanraken (E13.3).
Ook wanneer de cilinder van de motorrem zich in
de ruststand bevindt (cilinder ingedrukt), moet de
hendel van de vlinderklep de steun aanraken; zo
volstaat het voorladen van de veer van de cilinder
van de motorrem.
Controleer de positie van de as van de vlinderklep:
als de motorrem zich in de ruststand bevindt, is de
inkeping horizontaal. In de werkstand bevindt de
inkepingzich in de verticale positie.
