10) Set the pipe of the following dimensions on the stopper
clip, and push in the pinion stopper clip by tapping the
pipe.
I.D.: approx. 18 mm (0.7 in), O.D.: approx. 22 mm (0.9 in),
Length: approx. 20 mm (0.8 in)
11) Remove the pinion stopper clip using a screwdriver or
equivalent tool.
Replace the pinion stopper clip as a set (pinion stopper set)
on reassembly.
12) Remove the pinion stopper, pinion return spring,
overrunning clutch, front bracket, front washer (gray),
thrust washers and the front washer (black) from the
armature in this order.
• Replace the pinion stopper and the pinion return spring
as a set (pinion stopper set) on reassembly.
c. INSPECTION
• BRUSH LENGTH
Measure the brush length. If the measurement is less than the
service limit, replace the brush and the brush holder as a set.
