6) Install the 8 mm nylon washer, steering friction lever and
the 8 mm washer as shown.

• Check the 8 mm nylon washer, steering friction lever and
the 8 mm washer for contamination with oil or grease.

Clean the parts thoroughly if necessary.
• Note the steering friction lever installation direction.

7) Set the steering friction lever in the locked position (i.e. the
lever is in contact with the stopper by turning it

counterclockwise fully) as shown.

8) Tighten the 8 mm self-locking nut to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 9.5 N . m (1.0 kgf . m, 7.0 lbf . ft)

9) Perform the steering friction adjustment (P. 3-26).
