6) Install a commercially available universal bearing puller
between the reverse bevel gear and bearing.

• Be sure that the universal bearing puller is set on the
bearing outer race securely.

7) Set a wood block or equivalent material on the
commercially available universal bearing puller as shown.

Drive the reverse bevel gear/bearing assembly into the
propeller shaft holder using the hydraulic press.

• If the reverse bevel gear is protruding from the top

surface of the universal bearing puller and the wood
block is in contact with the reverse bevel gear, set a
spacer between the wood block and the universal bearing
6
puller to drive the reverse bevel gear/bearing assembly.

8) Set a wood block under the reverse bevel gear.

9) Apply soapy water to the outer surface of the 22 x 35 x 7

mm water seals.

10) Drive the 22 x 35 x 7 mm water seals one by one into the
propeller shaft holder using the special tools. Note the
16 installation direction of the water seals.
Apply marine grease to the water seal mating surfaces
before installation.

11) After installation of the water seals, apply marine grease to

the water seal lips.
