5. Disconnect the ground terminal (2) first, then the
positive terminal (1).
6. Remove the fastener (3) securing the battery hold-
down (4). Remove the battery hold-down.
7. Check that all cables and parts are out of the way, then
lift the battery out of the battery compartment.
8. Clean the battery and terminals. See "Check the
Battery" on page 5-52.
9. Clean the battery tray.
10. Installation is in the reverse order of removal. Connect
the positive terminal first, then the ground terminal.
