Exemplary commissioning
The procedure for commissioning is described as an example. A
different method may be appropriate or necessary, depending on
the application of the components.
• Check modules and guide rails for damage
• Check mounting and alignment
• Check the distance between the magnetic plates and the mod-
ules, and between the encoder flags and the modules
• Check the pretension of the movers
• Tighten screw connections correctly
• Mount mechanical and electrical protective devices
• Check the wiring, connection and proper grounding
When using Mover 1
• Counting how many movers are equipped with the Mover 1 mag-
netic plate set [+]
• Check all attachments for function and setting
• Observe information for environment and operation
• Check protective measures against moving and live parts
Configuration
Beckhoff recommends the use of the latest TwinCAT XAE software
and TF5850 software for the configuration of new projects.
• Create a new TwinCAT project and select the target system
• Add modules to the I/O devices via the Scan function
• Open the XTS Tool window
• Create the XTS configuration using the XTS Configurator. For
more information please refer to the XTS software documenta-
tion.
• Check the state and activate TwinCAT
• If present, detect Mover 1 (48 V must be present)
• Activating and moving the mover using the NC user interface
