23 On-the-fly marking
(1) Marking field center
(2) "Trigger detecting position [mm]": Distance between the center of the marking field and the trigger
detecting position
(3) Moving direction
(4) Trigger sensor
(5) Workpiece
(6) Trigger detecting position
"Trigger mode"
For "Trigger mode", specify the mode of the marking trigger. Select "Single trigger", "Marking
at regular intervals" or "Multiple triggers".
On-the-fly marking at regular intervals or with multiple triggers cannot be set together with
the following functions in one file:
"Functional characters" > "External control" > "Registered characters (via I/O connector)"
"Functional characters" > "External control" > "Characters specified by SIN command"
"Function settings" > "External offset" (marking offset by I/O or SEO command)
"Function settings" > "Counter" > "Reset at date change"
"Line speed control"
For "Line speed control", select "Fixed speed", "Encoder input" or "2 sensors input".
If the line speed is fluctuating, set "Encoder input" or "2 sensors input". Use an external
encoder or sensors to measure the line speed.
Connect the encoder or sensors to ENCODER A IN (X13) and ENCODER B IN (X14) of the
TERMINAL connector. For details, refer to the "Setup and Maintenance Guide" of your laser
marking system.
"Encoder resolution [pulses/mm]"
If "Line speed control" is set to "Encoder input", specify the encoder resolution.
When using A phase only:
Encoder resolution = Number of pulses/mm ´ 2.
When using A and B phases:
Encoder resolution = Number of pulses/mm ´ 4.
