General hazard pertaining to machine operation and servicing
DANGER
To prevent injury or death from improper or unsafe machine
operation:
• Read the operator's manual and follow all safety
instructions.
• Do NOT allow untrained persons to operate the machine.
• Review these safety instructions with all Operators
every year.
• Ensure that all safety signs are installed and legible.
• Ensure that everyone is clear of the machine before starting
the engine and during its operation.
• Keep riders off of the machine.
• Keep all shields in place and stay clear of moving parts.
• Disengage the header drive, put the transmission in Neutral
and wait for all movement to stop before leaving the
operator's position.
• Stop the engine and remove the key from the ignition
before servicing, adjusting, lubricating, cleaning, or
unplugging the machine.
• Engage the safety locks to prevent the lowering of the
header or the reel before servicing the header when it is in
the raised position.
• Use a slow moving vehicle emblem and flashing warning
lights when operating on roadways unless prohibited by law.
Run-over hazard
DANGER
• The machine will move if the steering wheel is turned while
the engine is running.
• Steering response is the opposite of what is normally
expected when backing up the machine. Turn the bottom of
the steering wheel in the direction you want to go.
• Always move the ground speed lever to the slow end of the
range before shifting the high-low speed control.
• To prevent machine runaway: stop the engine and remove
the key from the ignition before servicing, adjusting,
lubricating, cleaning, or unplugging the machine, or before
performing maintenance or service on the steering linkage
or neutral interlock system.
• Refer to the windrower and header operator's manuals for
inspection and maintenance instructions.
