4.3.5 The rules of agricultural implements coupling to FLL

Agricultural implements coupling to FLL is similar to RLL coupling. First it is necessary to
place hinged joints of FLL lower links grippers on a lower axle of the agricultural machine
(or on ears with pins), then couple the upper link to the implement.
For FLL lower links coupling to the lower axle of the agricultural implement, it is necessary
to do the following:
unlock both lower links 3 and 5 (figure 4.3.11) for which it is necessary to unscrew the
counter nut on turnbuckle 4 and turning the central element of the turnbuckle, provide free
movement of the lower link (on the level of the connecting hinge joint) at least
40 mm to
both sides;
slowly, at the speed of not more than 3 km/h, approach the agricultural implement uplifting
the hinge joints of lower links 3, 5 to the same height as the lower axle of the implement;
stop when openings of FLL lower links hinge joints match with the implement lower axle.
Place the hinge joints from both sides to the axle manually.
secure the hinge joints from side displacement putting locating fixtures into the openings
on the coupled implement axle edge;
lock lower links 4 (rotate the central element of the turnbuckle, then screw the counter nut)
to avoid the coupled implement swaying.
The procedure differs a little while FLL lower links coupling to agricultural implements that
have no single lower axle, but have ears with pins for coupling.
For FLL lower links coupling to the implements ears, it is necessary to do the following:
it is necessary to set the dimension 870 mm between the hinge joints centers (unscrew
turnbuckles counter nuts, set the dimension 870 mm by rotating the central elements of
the turnbuckle, screw counter nuts) and uplift lower links between the ears of the coupled
implement until the hinge joints openings match with the openings in ears;
pass the pin for each link through the openings in pairs (ear – hinge joint – ear);
secure the pins from displacement with locating fixtures.
For FLL upper link coupling to the agricultural implement, it is necessary to do the follow-
ing:
unscrew counter nut 2 (figure 4.3.10) which locks screw 3 turning of the upper link in slide
piece 1. Take linch pin 5 out of pin 4. Take pin 4 out of the upper link hinge joint;
before coupling upper link to the implement with pin 4, turn off screw 3 out of linch pin 1 for
the required value. Secure pin 4 setting linch pin 5;
final adjustment of the implement operating condition shall be done by turning the slide
piece with the key to either side, screw 3 twists in (the link shortens) or twists off (the link
lengthens) out of slide piece 1;
after adjusting, screw counter nut 2.
1 – slide piece; 2 – counter nut; 3 – screw; 4 – pin; 5 – linch pin.
