Towing and tow-starting

Example: covers for towing eye mountings

The mountings for the screw-in towing eyes

are located in the bumpers. They are at the

front and at the rear under the covers.

Remove the towing eye from the vehicle

Front bumper: insert a finger into the

recess on the bottom edge of cover :.

Pull cover : out of the bumper towards

you in the direction of the arrow.

Cover : is attached by a strap in the aper-

Rear bumper: press the mark on cover ;

inwards in the direction of the arrow.

Remove cover ; from the aperture.

Screw the towing eye in clockwise to the

stop and tighten it.

Loosen the towing eye and unscrew it.

Front bumper: position cover : on the

opening in the bumper, as shown.

Twist cover : into the opening in the direc-

tion of the arrow.

Cover : is now attached at the upper edge

of the opening.

To close, press the lower section of

Rear bumper: position cover ; on

bumper and press until it engages.

Place the towing eye in the vehicle tool kit

Towing the vehicle with the rear axle

! The ignition must be switched off if you

are towing the vehicle with the rear axle
