Commissioning

6.2.1

Values for "Sensor" commissioning

To install the sensors, you require the values for the "sensor distance" and "wire length"
(for the Clamp On version) or "sensor distance", "arc length" and "path length" (for the
Insertion version). There are range of methods available to determine these values:

1) Conditions that must be met before determining the values via a FOUNDATION
Fieldbus configuration programme, (see Page 64):
• Transmitter installed, (see Page 34)
• Transmitter connected to power supply, (Page 41)
• FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface has been commissioned, (see Page 66)
2) Conditions that must be met before determining the values via the local display
using the "Sensor" Quick Setup, (see Page 63).

• Transmitter connected to power supply, (Page 41)
3) FieldTool is a configuration and service software for flowmeters in the field.
Conditions that must be met before determining the values via the FieldTool:
• Transmitter installed, (see Page 34)
• Transmitter connected to power supply, (Page 41)
• "FieldTool" configuration and service software installed on a notebook/PC
• Connection made between notebook/PC and device via the FXA 193 service
interface, (see Page 42)
4) Applicator is a software for selecting and configuring flowmeters. The values
required can be determined without having to connect the transmitter
beforehand.
The "Applicator" can be downloaded from the Internet ( → www.applicator.com)
or ordered on CD-ROM for installation on a local PC.
Note!
The additional values "sound velocity liquid", "sound velocity pipe" and "wall thickness"
which can be called up in the "Sensor" Quick Setup (only available in conjunction with
a local display and not with FOUNDATION Fieldbus) can also be determined by means
of the configuration software "FieldTool".
