Installing the measuring sensors Prosonic Flow W
(dual path Insertion version)
1.
Set installation range (e) on pipe section:
– Installation location: Page 14
– Inlet/outlet runs: Page 16
– Space required by the measuring point: approx. 1x pipe diameter.
2.
Draw the middle line on the pipe at the mounting location.
Fig. 26:

3.
Starting at the middle line, mark the arc length (b) on one side at the mounting
location of the sensor holder. Usually, the arc length is taken as approx. 1/12 of the
pipe circumference. Indicate the first drill hole (drill hole diameter approx.
81...82 mm).
Note!
Make the lines longer than the drill hole!
4.
Drill the first hole, e.g. with a plasma cutter. If the wall thickness of the pipe is
unknown, measure it at this point.

5.
The sensor distance (distance between the two drill holes) and the arc length
between the sensors of the measuring groups are determined by means of the
"Sensor" Quick Setup (for devices with a local display).
Run the Quick Setup as explained on Page 72.
The sensor distance is displayed in the "Sensor distance" function (6886) and the
arc length in the "Arc length" function (6887).
!
Note!
– The transmitter must have a local display and be installed and connected to the
power supply before you can run the "Sensor" Quick Setup.
– In the case of transmitters without a local display, the value can be determined as
explained on Page 63.
