Hardware settings

Two jumpers on the I/O board provide the means of activating or deactivating hardware
write protection and simulation mode (for AI and DO function blocks).
Warning!
• Risk of electric shock.
Exposed components carry dangerous voltages. Make sure that the power supply is
switched off before you remove the cover of the electronics compartment.
1. Switch off power supply.
Remove the I/O board → Page 101 ff.

3. Configure hardware write protection and simulation mode appropriately using the
jumpers (Fig. 49).
4. Installing the I/O board is the reverse of the removal procedure.

1 Jumper for hardware write protection:
1.1 Switched off (factory setting) = Access to device parameters via FF interface possible
1.2 Switched on (factory setting) = Access to device parameters via FF interface not possible
2 Jumper for simulation mode:
2.1 Enabled (factory setting) = Simulation possible in the Analog Input function block or in the Discrete
Output function block
2.2 Blocked = Simulation not possible in the Analog Input function block or in the Discrete Output function
block
LED (light emitting diode):
→
– Continuously lit Ready (no communication via FF interface active)
→
– Not lit Not ready
→
– Flashes slowly Ready (communication via FF interface active)
→
– Flashes quickly Instrument error (type of error - "fault message" or "notice message")
