19. In the L_TYPE parameter, select the type of linearisation for the input value (Direct,
Indirect, Indirect Sq Root) → see the "Description of Device Functions" manual.

Caution!
Ensure that with the "Direct" type of linearisation, the settings in the OUT_SCALE
parameter group agree with those in the XD_SCALE parameter group. If this is not
the case, the following occurs:
– The BLOCK_ERROR parameter displays the error message "Block Configuration
Error".
– Although the AUTO operating mode can be selected (MODE_BLK parameter
group, "Target" parameter = "AUTO"), the function block remains in the "Out of
Service" operating mode (MODE_BLK parameter group, "Actual" parameter =
"OOS").
Example:
– The measuring range of the sensor channel 1 is 0...30 m
– The output range to the automation system should likewise be 0...30 m
The following settings must be made:
– Analog Input function block, in the CHANNEL parameter (input value selection),
select 2 → Volume flow channel 1
– L_TYPE parameter → Direct
– XD_SCALE parameter group
XD_SCALE 0 %
XD_SCALE 100 %
XD_SCALE UNIT
– OUT_SCALE parameter group
OUT_SCALE 0 %
OUT_SCALE 100 % = 30
OUT_SCALE UNIT
20. Use the following parameters to define the limit values for alarm and warning
messages:
– HI_HI_LIM → Limit value for the upper alarm
– HI_LIM → Limit value for the upper warning
– LO_LIM → Limit value for the lower warning
– LO_LO_LIM → Limit value for the lower alarm
The limit values entered must be within the value range specified in the
OUT_SCALE parameter group.
21. In addition to the actual limit values, you must also specify the action taken if a limit
value is exceeded using so-called "alarm priorities" (HI_HI_PRI, HI_PRI, LO_PR,
LO_LO_PRI parameters).

Reporting to the fieldbus host system only takes place if the alarm priority is higher
than 2.
