"SENSOR" QUICK SETUP
• In the case devices with a local display, this "Quick Setup" can be used to
determine the data required to install the sensors:
– With the "Clamp On" version, you receive the sensor distance data (1) in the
form of a letter for sensor 1 and as a number for sensor 2. You can use the
mounting rail to locate the sensors easily.
– With the butt-weld version (Insertion), you receive the sensor distance as
distance data.
• Connecting the sensor/transmitter connecting cable, see Page 39.
• This Quick Setup is not available for devices without a local display. Please
refer to Page 63 for information on sensor installation with devices without a
local display.
Commissioning with the "Commissioning QUICK SETUP" /
Commissioning via FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface
• You can commission your measuring device quickly and easily using the
special "Quick Setup" menu. It allows you to configure important basic
functions using the local display, for example display language, measured
variables, engineering units etc.
• If necessary, you can carry out a zero point adjustment separately.
• This Quick Setup is not available for devices without a local display.
Information on commissioning devices without a local display and on
commissioning via the FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface is provided from
Page 66 onwards.
Customer-specific configuration
Complex measurement tasks mean that additional functions must be configured.
Users can select these functions individually by means of appropriate device
parameters and configure and customise them to suit their process conditions.
There are two options open:
– Configuration or commissioning by means of a configuration programme (via
FOUNDATION Fieldbus), see Page 48.
– Configuration via the local display (optional, see Page 54)

All functions and device parameters are described in detail in the "Description
of Device Functions" manual, which is a separate part of these Operating
Instructions.
Always start trouble-shooting with the checklist on Page 85, if faults occur after
start-up or during operation. This takes you directly to the cause of the problem
and the appropriate remedial measures.
