6.1

Function check

Make sure that all final checks have been completed before you start up your measuring
point:
• "Post-installation check" checklist → Page 36
• "Post-connection check" checklist → Page 45
Note!
• The technical function data of the FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface in accordance
with IEC 61158-2 must be observed.
• The bus voltage of 9...32 V and the current consumption of 12 mA at the measuring
device (FF interface) can be checked using a normal multimeter.
Function check via local display (optional)
Once the function checks have been successfully completed, it is time to switch on the
supply voltage. The device is now operational.
The measuring device performs a number of self-tests after power-up.
As this procedure progresses the following sequence of messages appears on the local
display:

Standard measuring mode commences as soon as start-up is completed. Various
measured value and/or status variables appear on the display (HOME position).
Note!
If start-up fails, an appropriate error message is displayed, depending on the cause.
