Customizing the channel announcement

You can change the channel announcement to suit
your operating needs. The channel announcement
customizing is convenient for the localization by using
your local languages.

D Customizing the channel announcement

1� Connect a transceiver to your PC using a USB
cable.
2� Set the USB Mode Select to "Card Reader."
(Menu > Function > USB Mode Select)
3� Open the Announce folder according to the
instructions on page 9-8.
4� Save announcement files in the Announce folder
using your PC.
NOTE: The announcement files have to satisfy
the following conditions.
The file format is "wav."
• 16 bit
• Sampling frequency: 8 kHz
• Number of channel: mono
The file is named as
• "Announce_Channel_xxx_yyy.wav" for the
transceivers with an LCD.
• "Announce_Position_zz.wav" for the
transceivers without an LCD.
L xxx: Zone number, yyy: Channel number,
zz: [Selector]ʼs position
5� Set the USB Mode Select to "Data Transfer."
(Menu > Function > USB Mode Select)
6� Turn OFF the transceiver�
7� Turn ON the transceiver.
• The entered announcement is made.

D Returning to the default setting

1� Connect a transceiver to your PC using a USB
cable.
2� Set the USB Mode Select to "Card Reader."
(Menu > Function > USB Mode Select)
3� Open the Announce folder according to the
instructions on page 9-8.
4� Delete the announcement files from the Announce
folder.
5� Set the USB Mode Select to "Data Transfer."
(Menu > Function > USB Mode Select)
6� Turn OFF the transceiver�
7� Turn ON the transceiver.
• Returns to the default announcement.
