FPGA Status Inquiry

The camera has been programmed to detect several error conditions in its field programmable gate array
(FPGA). When an error condition is detected, a flag is set. The FPGA status inquiry register allows you to
read the error flags.

cant bit. If a bit is set to 1, the error condition assigned to that bit is present. If the bit is set
to 0, the error is not present.
Bit
Description
0
No FPGA firmware available.
1
FPGA firmware is available but the firmware has failed to load.
2
The camera's maximum line rate has been exceeded.
(Note: If you are operating the camera in ExSync programmable mode and you trig-
ger the camera faster than allowed, the camera will automatically ignore any trigger
signals that would cause a max line rate exceeded condition and this bit will not be
set.)
3
There is no ExSync signal.
4
A "high clipping situation has been detected (see Section 3.6.5).
5
A "low clipping situation has been detected (see Section 3.6.5).
6
A "dark pixel" error has been detected.
The camera's sensor has several "dark pixels" that are used for internal calibration
procedures. Dark pixel errors are very uncommon but they could be caused by us-
ing an extremely bright illumination source or if the camera is not equipped with the
recommended IR cut filter (see Section 1.4). Dark pixel errors could also be caused
by a defective sensor.
