7.9.3 How to Install the Power Supply Unit

This section explains how to install and remove the power supply unit.

Turn off the server and peripheral devices and unplug the power cables from
the inlet.

Remove the dummy unit.
Remove the screws of the dummy unit, and pull it out toward you, holding the handle.
Be sure to keep the removed screws for later use.

Attach the power supply unit.
Hold the power supply unit with both hands. Insert it straight into the power supply unit slot.
When attaching a power supply unit, be sure to confirm that the connector of the power supply
unit is not damaged or bent.

Connect the power cable to the inlet.
• Areas around the power supply unit may be very hot. Turn off the power and
wait for a while before starting work.
