Either method can be chosen. An advantage to downloading the database it that
does not require physically transporting anything from one site to the other. An
advantage to archiving and restoring the database is that a copy of the database can
be created at some convenient time, then sent to the new site, where it will be ready
to load as the unit is being installed.
Creating Database Records
This procedure requires a bootable 3½-inch 1.44MB diskette, formatted
for MS-DOS 5.0, at the new ICP. To format a diskette and make it
bootable, insert it into a 5.0 system and type:
Steps 1–33 are performed at the new node. Steps 34–39 are done at an
INM in the operational network.
1. Switch on the VGA monitor, then the node.
2. When the following is displayed (after a few seconds):

3. When prompted:
Type Control-D to proceed with normal startup
(or give root password for system maintenance)
press (simultaneously)
4. The current system date and time will be displayed. Press
displayed values, or enter the correct values, in the format:

year, month, or day, you must enter the entire string.
5. Various messages will be displayed, ending with:

Installing a Node
Be sure to change the node number at the new node (described
as part of the "restore" procedure), since the restored database
will identify the node as the one at which the database was
archived.
