2.4 Direct connection of the nv Engineering Tool

LC53* and nv Engineering Tool can be connected as 1:1. The following explains
how to make a connection.
2.4.1

Ethernet connection

The nv Engineering Tool can be connected directly to the LC53* without using a
hub. For this connection, make sure to use a cross type Ethernet transmission
cable.

Connect the Ethernet communication port of the PC for the nv Engineering
Tool and the Ethernet communication port of the LC53* directly with a
Ethernet transmission cable.
After shutting down nv Engineering Tool, remove the Ethernet transmission
cable from the Ethernet communication port of the LC53*. Then, remove the
Ethernet transmission cable from the Ethernet communication port of the PC
for the nv Engineering Tool.
Note
• When inserting the Ethernet transmission cable, check the insertion direction of the
connector, and insert it fully into the connectors of the LC53* and PC until it clicks.
• When removing the Ethernet transmission cable, do not hold the cable. It may cause a break.
Make sure to hold the connector parts, and remove it while holding the hook.
• When inserting or removing the Ethernet transmission cable, do not bend the connector hook
in the reverse direction by mistake. The hook may be broken.
